Ali Alagheband, Vice President, Finance

Ali joined DRI Capital in July of 2002 and has been involved in research, financial modeling and business development. Earlier, he served as Business Development Manager at Inwest Investments and helped evaluate more than 70 potential venture capital investments. Prior to Inwest, Ali was the co-founder and president of an MIT spin-off company in Worcester, Massachusetts. Ali holds a Bachelor of Physics from Reed College, a Bachelor of Engineering and Applied Science from the California Institute of Technology, a Master of Mechanical Engineering from MIT, and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario.

Lauren Hay, Director, Investment Analysis & Research

Lauren joined DRI Capital in November 2009.  Prior to joining the firm, Lauren was a Senior Consultant at Frankel Group, a boutique life sciences strategy consulting firm in New York City.  She has also served in the Commercial Finance Group at Genetech.  Lauren holds a BA in Human Biology from Stanford University where she earned Phi Beta Kappa Honours.  She also holds an MBA with Honours from The Wharton School  where she was  enrolled in the Health Care Management program.

Behzad Khosrowshahi, President & CEO

Behzad joined DRI Capital as President and CEO after a successful takeover bid by Inwest Investments Ltd. in April of 2002. Earlier in his career, Behzad served as Business Development Manager at Inwest, where he was responsible for a number of investment initiatives. In 1994 Behzad joined one of Inwest's portfolio companies, Future Shop Ltd., a $2 billion retailer of consumer electronics, where he was responsible for establishing the company's web presence. He later became Executive Vice President, Merchandising and Supply Chain at Future Shop. Behzad is a Chartered Accountant by training and holds a Bachelor of Arts in history from Reed College.

Melissa LaFlair, Executive Vice President & General Counsel

Melissa joined DRI Capital in October 2003. Prior to this time she practiced corporate, securities and securitization law at Torys LLP where she represented a wide variety of public and private clients on local, national and international matters. Prior to that Melissa had a similar practice at Davies Ward Phillips and Vineberg. Melissa received her LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario and is called to the bar in Ontario. She also holds a B.A. (Honours, Business Administration) from the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario.

Jason Lin, Director, Investment Analysis & Research

Jason joined DRI Capital in January 2008.  Prior to joining, Jason was a member of DAFNA Capital Management, a Los Angeles based biotechnology hedge fund.  He was also a research associate at Granite Financial and spent three years on the equity research team at Morgan Stanley.  Jason began his career at RCM Global Investors in fixed income after receiving a BA in economics and international business from the University of Iowa.  He is currently a CFA level II candidate.
